Special-Primer AP 1010

Special-Primer AP 1010 is a special adhesion promoter for thermoplastic elastomers, EPDM rubber as well as for untreated polypropylene. Special-Primer AP 1010 is compatible with aerosols and can be used in aerosol cans.

Special-Primer AP 1010 is widely used to solve adhesion problems with flexible substrates like thermoplastic elastomers, thermoplastic polyurethane and EPDM (e.g. "Vistalon", Exxon, "Nordel", Dupont etc.). After coating with Special-Primer AP 1010 flexible substrates can be painted, printed, glued or labelled. Special-Primer AP 1010 is tinted white and therefore especially suitable for black substrates.

Special-Primer AP 1010 must be thoroughly stirred or shaken before use. Then it is ready for used. The substrate to be treated must be, if necessary, cleaned with e.g. white spirit. The primer may be applied by normal spraying, airless spraying or using aerosol cans, by dipping, floating or rolling.

Special-Primer AP 1010 should be applied in a thin and uniform layer. The drying is completely physically. At room temperature recoatability after 3 - 4 minutes is given. By adding heat the drying time can be further reduced. Painting, printing, gluing or labelling can follow immediately or even months later. It should be observed that after any long storage the substrate treated with Special-Primer AP 1010 may need cleaning before any further coating can be applied.
