W´Kyd SH 380 is a short oil alkyd especially for use in conjunction with amino resins in very rapid curing acid catalyzed finishes.

W´Kyd SH 380 is intended for use in conjunction with unmodified urea formaldehyde resins in the ratio 65 : 35 or 70 : 30 (calculated on resin solids) for high quality, rapid curing acid catalyzed finishes with good elasticity and relatively long pot life. W´Kyd SH 380 is suitable both for acid catalyzed finishes to be cured at room temperature and for force drying finishes.

Particularly good is the compatibility with nitrocellulose of all viscosities also at small additions, based on the ready made acid curing lacquers.

In combination with reactive melamine resins like Dynomin MI-11-I, (Dyno Cyanamid) W´Kyd SH 380 is recommended for stoving finishes to cure at 80 °C. To ensure adequate can stability of the paint and pot life in acid curing finishes the content of primary alcohol e.g. butanol, should be relatively high.

W´Kyd SH 380 is also used in combination with nitrocellulose for manufacturing of fast curing poly isocyanate crosslinked wood lacquers with good resistance properties.
