WorléeKyd C 641

W´Kyd C 641 is an extremely low viscous alkyd resin based on saturated fatty acids for the combination with nitrocellulose, for clear and pigmented nitrocellulose lacquers and onecomp. acid curing coatings for wood, foil and paper.

W´Kyd V 5241 U is a low viscosity linseed oil based urethane alkyd resin.

W´Kyd C 641 is especially used for high quality clear and pigmented nitrocellulose lacquers. The technical features are: very quick solvent release, good recoatability at any time and very good yellowing resistance. The extremely low viscosity of W´Kyd C 641 guarantees nitrocellulose lacquers with high film build and very good gloss.

Sanding sealers based on W´Kyd C 641 and nitrocellulose in the ratio 2:1 (calculated on solids content) dry very quickly and have good sanding properties.

W´Kyd C 641 is also used in combination with nitrocellulose, plasticizers and unmodified urea resins, catalysed with acid, for one-pack acid curing coatings.

WorléeKyd C 743 hs

W´Kyd C 743 hs is an extremely low viscous short oil and non-drying alkyd resin for the manufacture of high solids, oven cured primers, fillers and top coats.

Although W´Kyd C 743 hs is very low viscous, it is a high reactive stoving resin. Optimal film properties can be achieved at stoving conditions 10-30 min. at 160 - 130 °C, normally without addition of any catalyst. The alkyd-amino resin ratio by using high reactive methylated melamine resins (e.g. Cymel 325) is 80:20. An addition of catalyst is not necessary. By using butylated or iso-butylated melamine resin the optimum ratio is between 7:3 and 3:1. The addition of 0.4 - 1.0% of catalyst (e.g. W´Add 2030), calculated on total formulation is recommended.

Due to the high yellowing resistance of W´Kyd C 743 hs it is possible to cure at temperatures up to 160 °C by reducing the curing time.

High solids stoving paints based on W´Kyd C 743 hs in conjunction with methylated melamine resins such as Cymel 325 exhibit a high degree of gloss, good film build and mechanical properties. Due to the excellent adhesion W´Kyd C 743 hs can be used for one coat finishes.

In order to improve flow and gloss, the addition of 0.1 - 0.2% W´Add 100 is recommended. The addition of silicone based additives should be avoided because cratering can be the result.

WorléeSol 31 A

W´Sol 31 A is a modified linseed oil polymer. It is readily reducible with water for formulating exterior stains and wood preservatives.

W´Sol 31 A is a unique resin for the manufacture of water thinnable clear wood impregnation, pigmented and transparent stains and wood preservatives. It shows extremely good penetration into the wood, excellent durability, easy application, no nail head rusting, good chalk binding and long term elasticity.

The storage stability is even with low solids content very good and it is not sensible to frost. Pigments, extenders and matting agents can be dispersed on all common aggregates. The pH-value of wood preservatives based on W´Sol 31 A should be between 8.2 - 8.5 so that the optimum stability is guaranteed. Ammonia is recommended as neutralization agent. As driers cobalt and manganese, eventually in combination with Activ 8 (Vanderbilt) have proved to be suitable.

Recommended Storage and Transport Conditions: 5 to 25 °C. Protect against freezing and avoid direct sunlight. Product contains water and storage under 0 °C may cause inhomogenity. In this case, warm up slowly at room temperature if necessary with the help of a slow stirrer

WorléeSol 30

W´Sol 30 is a chemically modified, very low viscous linseed oil polymer.

Due to the main characteristics of W´Sol 30, 100% like solubility with water - only given if 10-15% co-solvent (calculated on solids) are added - and solvents (e.g. white spirit), high and easy pigmentation, freeze/thaw stability and high gloss there are many interesting application fields, like e.g.

  • printing inks
  • additive for dispersion systems
  • pigment preparations or tinting colours
  • artists' paints
  • temporary anticorrosive paints

and also in fields where the approved qualities of linseed oil products are required.

Recommended Storage and Transport Conditions: up to 25 °C. Avoid direct sunlight.

WorléeSol E 150 W

W´Sol E 150 W is a medium oil PU alkyd emulsion for the manufacture of airdrying water thinnable paint systems.

W´Sol E 150 W is mainly suitable for the manufacture of fast air and forced drying systems. Top coats with high gloss, excellent hardness and very good water resistance can be formulated. Furthermore a good outdoor resistance should be mentioned.

Paints based on W´Sol E 150 W show good gloss stability after storage.

Further application fields for W´Sol E 150 W are air drying decorative, house and DIY-paints as well as wood protective glazings.

W´Sol E 150 W shows good compatibility with many water thinnable alkyd resins and acrylic dispersions. Of course, a thorough compatibility test should be done.

Drier recommendation: 0- 0.1% Co (metal on solid binder).
